New owners; same great chocolates, peanuts, candy and tradition of commitment to the community.
Dear Colonial Candy customers and friends – old and new alike,
Our family is thrilled to become the fourth owners of Colonial Candy and continue this Clintonville tradition into its 50th year. As the baton is passed from Melissa Goodrich and her family, who ran the store for more than 30 years, we recognize and appreciate the honor it is to be members of this club.
Our goals are simple. We want to provide great products – Heggy’s chocolates and candies will continue to be a staple at the store – and great service. There’s no need to tamper with perfection! For more than 90 years Heggy’s has handcrafted and individually wrapped fine chocolates and candies from its home in Canton, Ohio, and Heggy’s candies will remain fixtures at the store.
We want to be a place to where you can enjoy candy and be welcomed as a friend. A place that evokes memories and creates new ones. And we want to be a strong advocate for Clintonville. This is our home. It’s where John’s family has lived since 1920 and a community Stacey has embraced since meeting that Clintonville boy in 1985. It’s where we chose to raise our son, Tanner. We’ll join other great Clintonville businesses supporting a great community.
Our family loves everything Colonial Candy represents: tradition, community, family, friends and great chocolate. We will reopen on Saturday, January 30th, and hope you will join us on the journey!
